Creating Global Impact Through Education, Exchange, and Humanitarian Action

RCCD’s international initiatives include scholarships, youth exchanges, humanitarian projects, vocational opportunities, and partnerships that strengthen communities across multiple regions. World Community Service (WCS) considers global projects while activities such as the Rotary Youth Exchange and Vocational Training Team visits are managed by Rotary District 6360.

The WCS committee of RCCD contributes to development, implementation, financing and reporting of global projects (outside of Canada) in any of the seven areas of Rotary focus. Many projects are initiated within WCS (with or without Global Grants) by Rotarians who champion and oversee the project. Contributions are also made to selected projects initiated elsewhere. While there is liaison with many other organizations, all projects have a host local Rotary Club. Together, we develop our knowledge and skills while we strive to help people in other countries lead better lives.

      • Be part of, or be sponsored by, a local (site of project) eligible Rotary Club (or District)
      • Contribute some funding towards the project

 How We Review Projects

The World Community Services (WCS) Committee reviews project applications throughout the year. We look for initiatives that make a meaningful difference in communities and align with Rotary’s mission and values. Each project needs a WCS Champion, a committee member who supports the project and helps guide it through the review process. If you don’t already have a WCS Champion, the WCS Chair may be able to connect you with a committee member who is interested in supporting your project.

What You Need to Submit

  • Complete and submit the online application form.
  • Attach required documents (project plan, budget, and financial statements)
  • Review first by the New Project Subcommittee and then by the WCS committee may take 1-4 months, partly depending on if additional information is requested.
