We support grassroots initiatives focused on children, youth at risk, seniors, mental health, poverty reduction, and emerging community needs. We recognize that local organizations understand the challenges facing the people they serve. By supporting defined projects and practical resources, we help these organizations address gaps in services and strengthen their ability to care for our community. Our funding has helped provide bicycle helmets for children in need, launch a grief counselling program, purchase essential equipment for a women’s emergency shelter, and deliver meals, baby essentials, and in-home support to families facing difficult circumstances. Our Small Donations Committee meets monthly to review and prioritize requests within the annual budget, considering community needs and the difference each project can make. Through this work, we help turn local ideas into meaningful action, building a stronger, more connected community.     ### Community Impact - 140 Organizations Supported - +$500K Funding provided to date - 8 Organizations supported this year - $37K Funding provided this year ### Get Involved - ![angle-right](https://rotaryclubofcalgary.org/hubfs/angle-right.png) [Become a Member](https://rotaryclubofcalgary.org/become-member?hsLang=en) - ![angle-right](https://rotaryclubofcalgary.org/hubfs/angle-right.png) [Annual Report](https://rotaryclubofcalgary.org/hubfs/Small%20Donations%20Report%202025-26.pdf?hsLang=en) - ![angle-right](https://rotaryclubofcalgary.org/hubfs/angle-right.png) [Donate to the Program](https://portal.clubrunner.ca/942/donate/small-donations) ## Eligibility Eligibility varies based on the specific request, but in general applicants must: - Must be a registered charity in Canada - Deliver programs that benefit Calgary or nearby communities - Have a defined project plan with clear, measurable outcomes. - Not require ongoing or multi-year funding from the club - Complete a Small Donations application - The Small Donations Funding does not fund travel to conferences, meeting registration or meeting costs, speaker fees, or celebrations or gatherings. Funding through RCCD’s Small Donations Program will replace an ageing milling machine in their metalworking shop, restoring the precision needed for these life-enhancing projects. One of the first uses will be finishing a four-motor wheeled bed frame that lets a client move himself around his room with a simple joystick. Thanks to a skilled team of volunteers, this equipment will keep turning ideas into greater freedom and dignity for people with disabilities.  **Project Funding:** $4,000 ![Picture2](https://rotaryclubofcalgary.org/hubfs/Picture2.png) ### Canadian Association for Disabled Skiing The Canadian Association for Disabled Skiing is a volunteer-driven organization that gives children and youth with disabilities the opportunity to experience the freedom and joy of alpine skiing and snowboarding. Using specialized adaptive equipment and supported by 350 dedicated volunteers, the program welcomes 150 participants each winter at WinSport. Funding through RCCD’s Small Donations Program will replace an aging sit-ski with outriggers, providing young athletes with safe, independent access to the slopes for many years ahead.  **Project Funding:** $10,000 ## Contact Us For more information or to get involved, please contact us [Contact Us](https://rotaryclubofcalgary.org/admin@rotaryclubofcalgary.ca?hsLang=en) [![RCDC-Logo-white](https://rotaryclubofcalgary.org/hubfs/RCDC-Logo-white.svg "RCDC-Logo-white")](https://rotaryclubofcalgary.org/?hsLang=en) ## Helpful Links [District 5360](https://rotary5360.ca/) [Rotary International](https://www.rotary.org/en) [Club Bulletins](https://rotaryclubofcalgary.org/our-bulletins?hsLang=en) ## Your Membership [Member Login](https://portal.clubrunner.ca/942/User/Login?ReturnController=Page&ReturnAction=Show&ClassCode=Page&Slug=the-club-hub) [Our Leaders](https://rotaryclubofcalgary.org/our-leaders?hsLang=en) [Our Partnerships](https://rotaryclubofcalgary.org/our-partnerships?hsLang=en) [Contact Us](https://rotaryclubofcalgary.org/contact-us?hsLang=en) ## Let’s Talk (403) 398-9969 [admin@rotaryclubofcalgary.ca](mailto:admin@rotaryclubofcalgary.ca) [Facebook icon](https://www.facebook.com/people/Rotary-Club-of-Calgary-Downtown/100076757280542/?_rdr) [Instagram icon](https://www.instagram.com/rotaryyyc/) [X Twitter icon](https://x.com/rotaryyyc) [LinkedIn icon](https://www.linkedin.com/company/rotaryclubofcalgarydowntown/) Powered by [ClubRunner](https://www.clubrunner.ca/) © 2002–2026  All rights reserved.
