Club Meetings
WE MEET ON TUESDAYS
The Rotary Club of Calgary, Downtown meets every Tuesday at 11:30 am for fellowship and our formal meeting program at noon. While we conducted our meetings online during the COVID-19 pandemic, we expect to alternate between in-person and videoconference meetings beginning in early 2022. Please go to the Upcoming Speakers page for the location and format of all our upcoming meetings.
SUGGEST A SPEAKER OR TOPIC
The program committee constantly searches for compelling speakers to present diverse opinions and share their knowledge with our members and guests. We aim to achieve a balance of leading voices across the following Speaker Series topics.
| CEO | Major employers, employers in the news and defining leadership, and industry trends (local and with national impact) |
| Innovation | New technologies that will impact our well-being and community |
| Cultural | Community leaders and leaders from the cultural institutions defining our city |
| Political | Past and currently serving leaders, and pundits currently shaping political policy |
| Philanthropic | Rotary-supported local and international charities that make a difference in our community and around the world |
| Hot Topics | Current and newsworthy topics of interest to our community and club members |
CRITERIA FOR SELECTING SPEAKERS
The program committee looks for engaging speakers who are industry experts or thought leaders. No sales pitches, please!
Share your ideas for speakers by emailing speakers@rotaryclubofcalgary.org
Club members can also get involved by volunteering to deliver an invocation, become a song leader or pianist, introduce or thank speakers, or help out at the registration table of an in-person meeting.
